Excellence in School Science Education
The DSES submitted two papers on what universities might regard as Excellence in the teaching of science subjects in schools, in the context of the Curriculum for Excellence developments in the school curriculum. These were presented to the Scottish Government’s Science & Engineering Education Advisory Group (SEEAG), which in turn produced a Report that embodied a number of the recommendations highlighted by the Deans.

STEM academia in Support of the Creative Industries in Scotland
In response to a request from the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, DSES surveyed its member universities and compiled a paper reviewing the diverse and significant links between STEM academics, and the equally diverse Creative Industries sector of the Scottish economy.
